My driver assigned to me by the Marriott… he was showing me around the J Fort… he had a brand new Toyota Highlander (they call them something else over there, i forget the name).  He was very proud of his new vehicle.  It was the nicest that i rode in in India… yes,  it was a Toyota.  Before all who know me and know that i hate toyotas start up…. it wasnt my idea… it was assigned to me by the Marriott.  I cannot help what vehicles they purchase.

Left Jaipur, arrived in Bangalore.  Now the story about the fog that i promised you guys…  so, the morning of the flight out of Bangalore, the Russian weather front was still causing a great deal of fog and turbulent weather.  So, the airport was just packed with people.  They planes couldn’t get in and were being diverted to New Delhi or Ahmedabad.  However, my aircraft was still circling around above because it wasn’t in a fuel emergency.  After an hour and a half, they announced that several of the flights had been sent to New Delhi and Ahmedabad to re fuel, and they would return in the afternoon.  All the passengers could do was wait.  The airport isn’t very large and you don’t have much choice in another airline.  Besides, nothing was landing.  Our little Airbus was still circling around trying to wait for a break in the clouds.  Now, let me digress for a minute… coming into Jaipur a few days earlier, i had the same kind of problem.  It was very turbulent and and the aircraft had a missed approach… so, the pilot gunned the engines and we went up again.  The second times the charm, right?  Nope.. second missed approach and it was quite turbulent.  I , then, remembered that Airbus 320′ s suck at bad weather approaches.  They spent their r&d money on avionics and fly by wire systems, along with a comfy flight deck for the pilots.  Now, a boeing 737, is the opposite.  Sucky flight deck, no fly by wire, but more powerful (less efficient) engins and better airframes.  So, what is one to do…??  Put on the Ipod and find a song that matches the weather.  Unfortunatly, the GoPro was tucked away in the upper compartment and i couldnt get to it because i was in the window seat, and the two people next to me were scared out of their minds.  I just kept looking at the engine and the level of the flaps on the wing.  So, third approach and he just kinda slams the thing down… so awesome, i thought he broke the port side landing gear (there were a lot of rather chubby people on the port side of the aircraft, i was on the preferred starboard side).  I was sitting on the emergency row, and was ready to unlock the emergency exit and get in some excitement.  Unfortunately, we taxied to the de boarding area.  Anyhow, i airbus sucks.. i prefer having some power in the engines to punch through the weather… but all these carriers use airbus because they carry like 36 more passengers and have less powerful, more efficient engines.  Anyhow, the digress is over.  Now, i had to board the plane that probably landed the same way the plane i came in did… kinda a sideways slam.  So, as we were entering through the port side, i took a good look at the port side landing gear… just in case 🙂  …   off to Bangalore we went.  Ours was the only flight that landed (didn’t get diverted to the other airports for more fuel).  Another airbus 320..  it does have good legroom though, i will give them that.  I don’t know why Boeing 737-800’s hold less people, and yet have less legroom.
Bangalore, India… coming up next.
